1980

The Lou Family started a chain of Chinese restaurants in NYC, known for their family-friendly culture and dedicated employees.

1990

Expanded into multifamily real estate ownership and property management, offering attention to detail and personal care.

2003

Ventured into hotel development with the first Wingate Inn in Manhattan, adapting the brand to an urban high-rise building.

2005

Launched Construction and Procurement arms, providing construction management, FF&E procurement, and consulting for developers.

2010

Developed and opened a Courtyard by Marriott in Manhattan's West SoHo neighborhood, positioning well for NYC's recovery post Great Financial Crisis.

2012

Launched an Asset Management team to ensure successful partnerships between ownership groups and operations.

2014

Richard Lou took over the family business, aiming to propel growth through relationships, talent, portfolio diversification, and innovation.

2015

Invested in two Hampton Inns in Orlando, executing major renovations for better competitiveness.

2018

Opened a new 274-room AC by Marriott in Downtown Manhattan.

2020

Acquired hotels in Fort Worth, Texas, and Salt Lake City, Utah.

2023

Acquired Esperanto Development, vertically integrating into operations and rebranding as Palette Hotels.
